I Must believe that I am a
sinner
"For all have sinned, and
come short of the glory of God" (Romans 3:23).
"The wages of Sin is Death" (Romans 6:23)
That is, I must believe
that Jesus died, was buried, and rose again to save
sinners like me. He bore
"Our sins in His own body on the tree " (1 Peter 2:24)
I must trust JESUS.
Believe on Lord Jesus
Christ
I must confess my sins and
ask to be cleansed of all sin
I must forsake my sins
If we confess our sins, He
is faithfull and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all
unrighteousness"
I must take God at His Word
and confess Him before men.
"If thou shalt confess with
thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath
raised Him from the dead, thou shalt be saved. For with the heart man
believeth unto righteousness, and with the mouth confession is made unto
salvation" (Romans 10: 9,10).
To repent means to forsake
or turn away from. Jesus will give us power to do this. "But as many as
recieved him, to them gave He power to become the sons of God" (John
1:12). "For godly sorrow worketh repentance to salvation"(11 Cot.7:10).
"Repent ye therefore to be converted, that your sins may be blotted
out"(Acts 3:19)
